University of North Texas - IT Specialist III
The Classroom Support Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a IT Specialist III to join our team. This position has responsibility and ownership of the day-to-day technical management of an area and corresponding customer relations.Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Managing classroom systems, training initiatives, Student employee resources and hardware.* Providing expertise in various system environments.* Ensuring training, customer service and system design plans are in place and effective.* Preparing system specific troubleshooting reports.* Investigating problem situations that require a working knowledge of IT & AV concepts and in some cases new hardware or software solutions. * Ensuring technological needs continue to meet the demands of daily operations and end users. The successful candidate will possess an Associate's Degree in related field and four years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.* Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment.* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.* Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
