The Engineering-Dean's Office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Academic Advisor I to join our team. This position will advise students and prepare and update degree audits in the college regarding degree requirements and academic policies. Counsel at risk students on probation or suspension and process appropriate paperwork. The Academic Advisor I will also prepare paperwork associated with academic requirements and graduation processing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Maintain knowledge of DARS/EIS system.* Maintain the upkeep of degree plans.* Submit graduation packets to the Registrar's office in a timely manner. * Evaluates transfer credit, AP credit, and other types of credit to determine degree applicability. Bachelor's Degree and one year of experience in student affairs, student services, counseling, or academic advising.* Strong presentation skills.* Strong problem solving skills.* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.* Ability to work independently.
