Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the part time (20 hours per week) position of Institutional Data Analyst.  The Institutional Data Analyst (PT) will serve as a data analyst in institutional research, planning and effectiveness.  This position writes queries, gathers data, validates, formats and submits information to internal, state, federal and accrediting stakeholders. This position will report to the Director of Institutional Research.  The scope of the work is broad and requires excellent technical and analytical ability, with particular emphasis on data extraction and report generation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualifications:

Ability to extract data from the Colleague enterprise database using query tools, preferably SQL or similar software.
Expertise in Excel, Access, and related software to organize, summarize, and analyze data from a variety of sources.
Skill in writing queries against a student information system such as Ellucian (Colleague/Datatel) or other enterprise educational platforms is preferred.
Successful candidate must have strong attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to clearly communicate complex, technical information to a variety of audiences, as well as have the ability to quantify and measure data driven by theory to produce or drive organizational effectiveness.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required with the ability to partner and work effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders.

Required Educational Background: 
Associate's degree in a related field.  Bachelor's preferred.

Required Experience:      
At least two years' experience with data reporting and analysis required; experience in higher education systems preferred.

Demonstrable Experience in at least one of the following:
1. Analyses and reporting of data.
2. Extraction and summarization of data.
3. Development of a comprehensive information database.
