Head of Technology Services & Collections
Job Summary: The Head of Technology Services & Collections is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and assessment of the technical but not limited to; technology, acquisitions, and collection services and initiatives of the library. Common areas of oversight include, cataloging, serials, collection management, and licensing. With the Director of Libraries develops and implements a strategic plan to identify and align institutional priorities with goals for library technology and collection services. Oversees the work and performance of all personnel in the Technology & Collections department. Develops university wide partnerships with departments that intersect and integrate library technology and collection services. Supports T&C staff in collaborative projects with library and university departments that intersect and integrate library technology and collection services. Evaluates and implements emergent technologies into the technical services and collection services of the library.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Minimum 3 +years experience in library technical and collection services with demonstrated increase of responsibilities and supervisory experience. Understanding of current issues and trends facing libraries and the changing nature of the academic library environment supporting technology and the management of collections. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to facilitate communication among a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytic, and problem solving skills with the ability to work collegially with internal and external campus constituents. Demonstrated ability to implement and manage multiple projects and bring them to completion. Appreciation for the importance of diversity in the workplace and the ability to flourish in a culture that values diversity of thought and backgrounds. Strong commitment to attention to detail, collaboration, a respectful work environment, teamwork, and customer relations. Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
