Essential Job Duties: The North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) has been established as a private and public venture, with the mission to provide renewed knowledge in the domains of nutrition and human health and longevity. This Postdoctoral Research Scholar position will contribute to this mission, using the unique combination of research tools available from public and private sources. The position will help to elucidate the bioactivity of large fractions and/or isolated compounds from fresh fruits and vegetables, to gain knowledge of how this bioactivity relates to improvement in human health, more specifically in the areas of aging, arteriosclerosis or immunomodulation. The position will assist in developing methodology, processing data, providing technical assistance to other researchers, as well as troubleshooting experimentation and maintaining instrumentation. This position is Dole-funded.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: * PhD in Molecular Biology or related field. * Ability to manage multiple projects in an efficient and reliable manner. * Interact, communicate and collaborate with scientists from other disciplines. * Ability to analyze, present and troubleshoot data in a clear manner.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * 2 years of experience in the field of molecular biology and molecular pathways elucidation, as it relates to human disease, aging, arteriosclerosis, or immunomodulation. * Familiar with and up-to-date to BSL-2 level experimentation and requirements, and to be able to maintain a safe, BSL-2 standard experimental environment. * Ability to evolve independently in a BSL-2 level lab and develop new models of experimentation while co-operating with biochemistry teams.
