Essential Job Duties: The Plants for Human Health Institute is seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist with solid lab skills in Arabidopsis genetics and epigenetics to fill an NSF-funded postdoctoral position to study the mechanism of genomic imprinting regulated by active DNA demethylation in Arabidopsis. The focus of this project is to use a combination of molecular biology, genetic, genomic, and bioinformatic approaches to study how DEMETER DNA glycosylase is recruited to its target sites for demethylation. The position will function as an independent researcher actively advancing the goals of the project.

Minimum Education/Experience:

Department Required Skills: * Ph.D in molecular genetics, developmental biology, or related fields with solid experimental skills. * Strong background in protein interaction assays, genomic analyses (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, BS-seq), or protein biochemistry assays. * Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbally and written. * Experience of contributing to the writing of research publications, grant applications, and research progress reports.. * Skills in areas such as plasmid cloning, confocal microscopy, image analysis, Arabidopsis transformation, basic plant care. * Motivated to work in a collaborative team environment towards generating excellent scientific outputs.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: * 3 years of postdoctoral experience and at least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience. * Experienced in training and supervising graduate and undergraduate research.
