Primary Function of Organization Unit: North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management educates tomorrow's leaders through the University's active integration of teaching, research, and engagement. The college creates an innovative and intellectual environment with a focus on leadership and management in a technology-rich, global marketplace. At the undergraduate level, the Department of Economics offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Economics. The department also offers a Master's of Economics degree as well as a Ph.D. in Economics. Fields of concentration include Econometrics, Microeconomics/IO, Environmental Economics, Macroeconomics, Labor Economics, and International Economics.
Essential Job Duties: The Department of Economics in the Poole College of Management invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant-professor level in labor and health economics. The expectation is that an appointee will engage in high-quality research resulting in publications in leading general interest and field journals. The appointee must also be an effective teacher at the graduate and undergraduate levels and provide service to the department, college and university.
Minimum Education/Experience: Candidates must have a PhD, or equivalent degree, in the field, along with the potential to conduct distinguished research and provide outstanding teaching and service.
Department Required Skills: Candidates must be able to publish research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, successfully teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, and supervise Ph.D. dissertations. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Ideal candidates will be in the process of establishing a strong record of publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, with the potential to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and supervise graduate students.
