Primary Function of Organization Unit: The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS) at North Carolina State University has a long history of interdisciplinary teaching and research. In order to better serve the needs of NC State and our society, CHASS aims to strengthen its current efforts and expand its offering of interdisciplinary programs. We have a commitment to make interdisciplinary programs available to geographically dispersed and diverse populations through distance education.

Essential Job Duties: The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. Responsible for teaching, advising students. Service obligations to include holding regularly scheduled office hours, attending meetings of the International Studies faculty, mentoring students and representing International Studies college and campus-wide.

Minimum Education/Experience: PhD in in Women's and Gender Studies, Science, Technology and Society, or a related an interdisciplinary field, or in a closely related field including but not limited to: Communication, History, Political Science or Psychology or ABD with confirmed plans to defend the dissertation within the next year. Previous teaching experience at the college level.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: A record of superior teaching, research, and mentoring/advising students at the college-level.
