Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The College of Nursing, University of South Carolina, is seeking a qualified candidate eligible for the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor to fill a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track, faculty position. This position is an on-site appointment. In addition to teaching, clinical practice and research/scholarship activities are expected. Faculty appointment and salary are commensurate with the level of advanced practice clinical practice, teaching, leadership, and scholarship experience of the candidate.

The faculty member would provide didactic and clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

We are looking for a candidate who has knowledge and/or experience of undergraduate curricula and DNP and Masters Advanced Practice Nursing curricula that align with CCNE and NONPF criteria for Advanced Practice; the application of innovative online and in person class delivery and simulation methodologies; scholarship application; and health policy action/implementation.

Must have a serious commitment to the professional development of undergraduate and graduate nursing students, clinical practice, and leadership.

Required Education and Experience

Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP); specialty in Women's Health; two years of teaching and mentoring of students; unencumbered licensure as a APRN Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Midwife; National Certification as a WHNP or Midwife; and two years of direct practice as a APRN WHNP or Midwife. Excellent communication skills, team building, self-motivation, and initiative are expected. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
