General Summary of Position:
The Department of Public Health at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer Position in Health Informatics and Management.

Public Health is a dynamic, growing program located within the College of Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The college prepares professionals and scientists in a wide range of health science fields including applied, clinical and translational areas. A large research program along with vibrant community partnerships and engagement opportunities enrich and support our educational programs.

This position will primarily support the Master's Degree program in Health Informatics and Management(HIM). The HIM program is a non-traditional, professional graduate program that largely enrolls mid-career health industry and HIM professionals who are working full-time. The majority of the courses are taught online, with a few courses offered on an evening or Saturday schedule, and some are taught in a hybrid "blended" basis, combining, face-to-face and online sessions using the Blackboard Learning Management System. The program has more than 100 part-time students, with about half pursuing a Health Informatics concentration and the other half pursuing a Health Management concentration. Classes also enroll students from UML's Doctorate in Nursing Practice program. The Department of Public Health additionally offers an undergraduate degree in Public Health, and Master's degrees in Public Health and Work Environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-Masters degree required
-Broad health informatics and other health industry management experience
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
-"Hands on" experience with healthcare information systems (e.g., EMR, CPOE)
-Teaching or related instructional experience
-Strong written and spoken communication skills (English proficiency essential)

Candidates should have real world experience in the health informatics industry and an understanding of current workforce demands of employers in the region and beyond.
Successful candidates should also have a strong desire to teach and work among a diverse population of undergraduate students, staff, and faculty within the College of Health Sciences.

Other Considerations:
-Familiarity with online teaching and learning
-Research experience and publications
-Experience with Inter-professional Education is highly desirable
