The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Construction Specialist III - Mapping Analyst to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:* Ability to understand business needs, analyze resource requirements, identify resource gaps, estimate level-of-effort, and recognize opportunities to leverage existing resources in the creation of mapping solutions to the business needs of FPDC, Facilities and the University.* Lead mapping implementation services for FPDC; act in a project manager capacity for the procurement of equipment, data collection processes, maintenance of equipment, and supervision of mapping staff.* Administer all field data collection processes and crews utilizing high-accuracy GNSS and land survey equipment in a responsible manner.* Coordinate with GIS administrator to ensure cohesive, integrated and consistent two-way data workflows between field and office operations.* Author and keep current, comprehensive and organized documentation regarding the execution of all mapping solutions, including, but not limited to: descriptions of GNSS, Total Station and small unmanned aircraft methodologies; data workflows; training materials; user guides; and standard operating procedures.* Lead end-user training programs and provide on-going support for FPDC of all mapping solutions; keep training material relevant and current.* Liaise with internal and external agents to coordinate mapping services; manage integration of external data sources into production database.* Respond to requests for information and services from internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, cartographic products, GIS files, CAD files, and reporting products.* Assist management with strategic planning for mapping needs and applications by researching and staying abreast of industry trends, marketplace solutions and emerging technologies.* Provide subject matter expertise in mapping technologies and methodologies to UNT and UNT System in support of construction and renovation project planning.The University of North Texas System is firmly committed to equal opportunity and does not permit - and takes actions to prevent - discrimination, harassment (including sexual violence), and retaliation on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, family status, genetic information, citizenship or veteran status in its application and admission processes, educational programs and activities, facilities, and employment practices. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:* Physical ability to access work areas which may be in confined spaces or elevated heights.* Knowledge of appropriate safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.* Valid driver's license and ability to drive a vehicle, and maintain coverage under University auto insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles.
