JOB SUMMARY:


Performs all job duties related to Clemson's new college access program Tiger Alliance, which works with high school male students of color and helps them reach their goal of higher education. Recruits students for the program, communicates with parents, and works with school district staff and collaborating with campus partners to effectively coordinate the program.


JOB DUTIES:


Program Coordination: Coordinates academic year in-school activities. Recruits and trains college student ambassadors who will be helping with activities. Works with guidance counselors to assess student needs and develop year-long curriculum. Coordinates campus visits and other community/area trips: Host all TA students on Clemson's campus a minimum of twice a year. Collaborate with on- and off-campus partners for travel, meals, promotional items, facilitators for academic sessions, meeting space, speakers, etc. 40% - Essential

Program Recruitment and Outreach: Recruits students to Tiger Alliance (TA) by maintaining personalized contacts with district staff and school administrators at TA schools. Maintain TA student contact information, website, social media accounts and other forms of media, using them to provide program information to the TA students, families, relevant school district staff and the public. 25% - Essential

Relationship Building: Builds relationships with students and parents. Becomes familiar with all TA schools to analyze climate and needs. Meets with students and parents as needed and before, during and after school. Hosts informational sessions for parents to help support information given to students. 25% - Essential

Program Administration: Organizes all TA applications, forms and documents with appropriate security. Orders necessary promotional items for program and maintain program budget. 10% - Essential


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
