Job Summary The primary responsibilities of the Academic Advisor I are to meet with assigned students and provide each student with accurate information about the student's intended degree program, from major admission to graduation. A high level of independent work is expected in service to students. An Academic Advisor I must maintain consistent contact with their students, maintain accurate student records and respond in a timely manner to questions from their students. This position is also dedicated to a partnership with the UGA Exploratory Center during all freshman and transfer orientation sessions/advising requirements during summer and winter orientation dates. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment and one year of administrative and appropriate program experience; OR five years of progressively responsible work in this area; OR any combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
