The University of North Texas is accepting applications and nominations for the position of Vice Provost for International Affairs. The Vice Provost reports to the Provost and provides vision and leadership in all areas of international education. As chief international education administrator for the University of North Texas, the Vice Provost for International Affairs is expected to:* Provide administrative leadership for all service units in UNT-International.* Implement initiatives, including comprehensive internationalization strategies, designed to enhance UNT's reputation as a leader in international education and research.* Collaborate with the Vice President for Enrollment, the Vice Provost for Toulouse Graduate School and appropriate program directors to develop recruitment strategies for international students.* Collaborate with UNT Admissions and University Relations, Communications and Marketing to create and implement a full range of print materials, online and broadcast advertisements and other communication tactics to expand UNT-International's brand and global impact. * Identify, cultivate, evaluate and sustain strategic partnerships with international institutions of higher education.* Assist and educate university constituents on issues regarding international student employment, international student programing, international travel and immigration. * Foster international awareness and diversity among faculty, staff, students and the North Texas community.* Promote collaborations among colleges, departments and UNT-International to enhance international education and services.* Collaborate with the Division of Advancement to enhance external funding resources. The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and ten years of closely related professional experience which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:* Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)* Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate)* Ability to plan and conceptualize and make sound business decisions* Must exercise considerable independent and professional judgment in matters of significance* Strong presentation skills* Strong problem solving skills* Strong critical thinking skills* Strong planning and project management skills* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships* Ability to work independently* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
