Coordinator of Late Night Programs & Activities
Student Life, a department in the Division of Student and Campus Life, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator of Late Night Programs & Activities. The Department of Student Life administers the campus living program, the MacVittie College Union, and select co-curricular educational and assessment initiatives. Opportunities for student engagement and learning within the department include the all-college hour speaker series, Geneseo Late Knight, living learning communities and residential college houses, student organizations, Upstate Escapes, the Victor E. Knight mascot program, and Weeks of Welcome, as well as a number of student leadership and applied learning opportunities. We pursue ways to collaborate with Geneseo students, faculty, and staff to support our students as they pursue their individual educational goals by challenging students to better themselves, demonstrating an ethic of individual care, and building a strong, vibrant campus community. The Student Life Educational Priority is the development of socially responsible citizens who promote a sense of community as engaged learners.
Description of Professional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates the programs and operations of the Geneseo Late Knight program.
• Supervises the Geneseo Late Knight Graduate Assistant.
• Creates and maintains the Geneseo Late Knight budget for Student Association.
• Creates and maintains the Geneseo Late Knight Calendar.
• Supports the department’s mission, educational priority, and learning goals.
• Oversight of Geneseo Late Knight Social Media.
• Assists with the continued development and implementation of the late night programming initiative, Weeks of Welcome, and travel program.
• Act as programming and event resource for all Student Organizations.
• Assists with the improvement of the quality and quantity of campus activities.
As a representative of the department, the coordinator will be expected to participate in special college events throughout the academic year. The coordinator will be required to work evenings and weekends (specially Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) throughout the academic year
Qualified candidates will demonstrate experiences and skills that will foster and augment student development and the department mission. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others. Qualified candidates will have a basic understanding of programming and event management responsibilities. Qualified candidates must be creative, flexible, enthusiastic and self-motivated. Qualified candidates must display a commitment to diversity and be culturally competent. The coordinator will be required to work evenings and weekends (especially Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) throughout the academic year. The demonstration of strong communication and organizational skills is required. Student activities experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Supervisory experience and leadership experience preferred.
