Position Summary:

The challenges of college affordability have never been more pronounced, and uAspire's expertise - built over 30 years of practice - has never been more needed across our sites and communities nationwide. uAspire helps thousands of students reach their postsecondary dreams each year through various program models and the Senior Director of Succeed will play an integral role in growing that impact by leading the codification and expansion of our Succeed program.

The Succeed program offers college affordability advising to students in college through a primarily text based outreach platform. The Senior Director of Succeed will focus on optimizing this program model, defining and setting annual program goals, overseeing the quality of our programmatic implementation, and leading the expansion of our Succeed program to our Bay Area site for a fall 2018 launch.

This position requires a driven, detail-oriented, organized individual who possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills with prior team and project management experience.

Based out of the national office in Boston, this position will report to Claire Dennison, Senior Vice President, Programs and Performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Program Strategy & Planning

  • Use research literature, industry best practices and existing program data to refine core activities, delivery methods and timeline for Succeed program model

  • Define program outcomes & metrics, and set yearly and interim goals

  • Collaborate with Research and Evaluation Team to build metrics into centralized database

  • Codify and fully document all components of the Succeed model in preparation for replication

  • Explore the development of higher education partnerships

 

Oversee Scaling of Succeed to Bay Area Site

  • Adapt Succeed program model for replication in the Bay Area and lead launch of program pilot

  • Develop and oversee process for incorporating local Bay Area context, feedback, and new learnings to continuously improve program delivery and student outcomes

  • Collaborate with the Succeed Knowledge Manager to develop deep California postsecondary knowledge

 

Program & People Management

  • Monitor progress on interim and annual goals within Succeed program

  • Work with Knowledge Department to aid in development and refinement of Succeed content, training and assessments

  • Manage Director of Succeed

  • Support Succeed team members as needed, including resolving implementation challenges, identifying areas for program improvement, and guiding team through shifts in programming

One uAspire Collaboration & Support

  • Represent Succeed programming at conferences, in our communications (print, web, etc.), and with funders of uAspire's work

  • Lead hiring processes related to Succeed program growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Belief in and adherence to uAspire's Organizational Values - Student-Centered, Excellent, Dedicated, Collaborative, and Systems-Focused - required

  • High degree of professionalism, tact, initiative and diplomacy

  • High level of flexibility and adaptability required

  • High proficiency in Google Mail/Docs, and Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint - required

  • Past experience with growth and codification of programs highly desired

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and interested in learning within a growing, non-profit, entrepreneurial organization

  • Ability to work flexible hours that may include some early morning, evenings and travel at times

Anticipated Start Date: September 18th, 2017
