Locksmith II (HSC)
The Health Sciences campus locksmith is overall responsible for the door access and security at the hospital and Health Sciences campus buildings. Responsibilities include repair, install and open locks, make keys, and change lock combinations of the hospital. Secondary duties include Carpentry, Electrical and Painting jobs. Locksmiths would be expected to perform the skills encompassed in these secondary jobs such as: door repair and replacement, control wiring associated with card access and all electronic locking devices, door closers, ADA openers, minor demolition, light carpentry, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Five (5) years of directly related experience in installation and repair of all types of locks, door closer, exit device, cylindrical and mortise locks and related hardware. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to climb ladders, lift and carry tools, walk for extended periods of time, and hold and use various locksmith and secondary job related tools and equipment. * Knowledge of various types of locks, door closers, exit device and related hardware. * Knowledge of the various types of file cabinet, desk lock hardware and maintenance, replacement and rekeying of all other locking hardware and installation, repair and maintenance of these locks and related hardware. * Valid Driver's License. * Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and exhibit self-direction and motivation. * Demonstrated ability to interact with of a multitude of constituencies. * Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and ability to pin interchangeable cores, cut all types of keys. * Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and ability in the use of current locksmithing tools and equipment. * Demonstrated proficient with MS Office, Excel, and Word usage.
