Postdoctoral Researcher, Voter Turnout

Prof. Bernard Grofman, Center for the Study of Democracy and Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Professor Bernard Grofman on developing and implementing projects dealing with issues in voter turnout such as the impact of mail ballots, same day registration rules, and cross-national research on the determinants of turnout, and mathematical models of turnout. The position will provide an opportunity to publish collaborative research on voter turnout. The postdoctoral researcher will also have the opportunity to interact with faculty in Political Science, the Center for the Study of Democracy and the Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences.
Only individuals able to demonstrate excellence in both of the following two areas should apply:
a) statistical models for large scale data sets
b) a previous publication record on voter turnout
Salary and benefits:
This position is full-time for one academic year (until June 30, 2018) and includes benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related area, such as Economics. More experienced candidates with a PhD completed over the past 5 years are also considered. The position is anticipated to begin in October 2017 for one academic year (until June 30, 2018). Reappointment for a second year is unlikely.
