Duties: Penn Law is one of the nation's oldest and most distinguished law schools. We offer a distinctive cross-disciplinary legal education, drawing on the depth and breadth of the University of Pennsylvania, and a supportive intellectual community for our scholars, staff, and students alike. The Student Affairs Office is charged with defining and developing this internal culture of Penn Law's student-focused community.
The Student Events Coordinator ensures that student-run events represent Penn Law's excellence internally and externally, that these events are coordinated and designed to enhanced students' educational experience, and that students planning these events gain professional skills in managing these important projects. The Student Events Coordinator holds a limited service (9 months, with work from approximately August 15 through May 15) full-time position, reports to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, and collaborates extensively with the Associate Director of Student Development, the Director of Conferences & Events, and other Penn Law student services departments.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree required. Two to four years of progressively increasing administrative responsibility, preferably in higher ed, or the equivalent in education and experience. Must be able to demonstrate very strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ideal candidate will bring high energy, initiative, and resourcefulness. Occasional weekend and/or evening support may be required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Adobe essential; skill and enjoyment in learning new software additions are an asset. Excellent attention to detail. Keen understanding of the critical role of administrative tasks to the achievements of an important, student-facing, and fast-paced academic office. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to diversity and sensitivity to students, faculty, and co-workers from different cultural, ethnic, geographic, and experiential backgrounds. Must show ability to work well with others in a service-oriented environment. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and an interest in getting the work of the team done are essential.
