Job description

Duties: Conduct DNA-based genotyping and sequencing experiments (as well as other experiments) under the direction of PhD-qualified faculty and staff. Train undergraduate and graduate students in the use of lab equipment and reagents. Keep complete and comprehensive lab records which comply with safety regulations. Order lab supplies and equipment when necessary. Maintain the lab equipment in good functioning condition and to arrange for repair when necessary.

The experiments have complex extended protocols involving next generation DNA sequencing, fluorescence-assisted cell sorting, isolation of DNA from post-mortem human brain nuclei and cloning. Familiarity with these methods is preferred for contributing to the functions of the lab.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: B.S. in Biology and 0-1 years of experience in complex DNA-based protocols, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are requirements. 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Prior supervision of students and lab safety management experience is preferred.
