The Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, Education Department is currently accepting applications for possible openings for part-time faculty members to supervise students in field experience placements. Students are place in local public schools while taking each of two courses: Foundations of Education and Intro to Special Education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail oriented individual with public school teaching experience who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and who demonstrates the ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

***Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. ***

• The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as "TBA" does not constitute an assignment.
• The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management's sole discretion.
• During the academic year part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 11.5 ESH (equivalent semester hour) per semester and no more than 23 ESH per academic year.
• During summer part-time faculty at Montgomery College may teach no more than 10 ESH (equivalent semester hour) for both sessions combined.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The part-time faculty member will be responsible for supervising students in one or two local schools. This includes:
• Orienting students to the program and tracking their paperwork
• Communicating with MCPS mentor teachers and MCPS coordinators
• Evaluating student performance
• Leading seminars twice a semester
• Additional opportunities arise from time to time to teach courses


Required Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
• Master's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or Special Education
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at the college level, particularly with freshmen and sophomore level classes or at a community college.
