Degree and Area of Specialization:
BA/BS required, preferably in health care, nursing, biological sciences, social sciences or other health related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 2 years of experience in clinical trials, grant writing and human subjects protocols. Previous experience working with academic clinical researchers preferred.
The Dermatology Clinical Research Administrator will administer all aspects of the human subjects and clinical research activities of the department. This person will serve as the liaison between Dermatology clinical and translational research investigators working with human subjects and/or human tissue, the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), the Comprehensive Cancer Center (UWCCC), the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Veterans Administration, industry sponsors, and UW Health clinical operations. The position reports directly to the Department Administrator.
Knowledge & Skills:
-Ability to manage and mentor staffs required.
-Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written and verbal forms with study subjects, research sponsors, faculty, researchers and staff at all levels required.
-Excellent problem solving and organizational skills required.
-Strong analytical and writing skills required.
-Computer proficiency (minimum word processing and Excel) and ability to learn web-based programs required.
-Knowledge of federal human subjects protection and HIPAA regulations desired.
This position is primarily housed near the department's administrative offices at 20 South Park. Work also at our clinical sites at 1 South Park, UW Health West, UW Health East, the Medical Sciences Center, the VA and other locations as needed.
Title prefix and salary will be dependent upon relevant years of experience.
