ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF JUDICIAL AFFAIRS, Division of Student Affairs, Judicial Affairs (4830/G1917)
Judicial Affairs upholds community standards and is one of seven functional areas within the Division of Student Affairs. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Judicial Affairs, the Assistant Director administers Boston University’s disciplinary system in accordance with procedures delineated in the Procedures for the Resolution of Sexual Misconduct Complaints against Students ("Student Procedures") and the Code of Student Responsibilities (the "Code"). Although the position includes student conduct case management and an outreach component, the Assistant Director’s primary responsibility is to investigate student-on-student complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, and gender-related violence, including stalking and intimate partner violence, as defined in Boston University’s Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Policy ("Policy"). The Assistant Director is a 12-month, live-in position with on-call responsibilities.
Bachelors degree required, Masters degree or Juris Doctor preferred. Three to five years of professional experience in student conduct, residence life, student affairs, or an office of discrimination and harassment with proven track record of success in conducting investigation. Excellent writing, oral and analytical skills required.
