Job Description:
The Assistant Director serves as the program director for the New Student Orientation (NSO) program, and is responsible for organizing, delivering and assessing the NSO program for incoming undergraduate students. Additionally, the Assistant Director is charged with the successful delivery of select, admissions-based, on-campus recruitment events (specifically, Bobcat Days) and the supervision of Events Management staff within Undergraduate Admissions. The position will also be responsible for a recruitment territory that includes travel for high school/community college visits and college fairs. The position has five direct reports - 2 NSO Coordinators, 2 Admissions Counselors, and an Administrative Assistant, in addition to approximately 75 student employees.

Job Duties:
Direct the planning and implementation of 30+ New Student Orientation sessions
Oversee major admissions-based campus events, specifically 4 Bobcat Days (open houses), by providing leadership to Undergraduate Admissions Event Management staff
Lead collaborative efforts with the campus community involved in New Student Orientation
Manage the design & implementation of consistent communications with prospective students and campus partners throughout the orientation process
Manage a recruiting territory and counsel prospective students; travel and represent the university at recruitment functions
Supervise five full-time staff & 75+ student staff. Direct reports include 2 NSO Coordinators, 2 Admissions Counselors, & 1 Administrative Assistant
Work within NSO budget of $1.6 million
