The Systems Coordinator will work under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Educational and Computer Technology to provide computer and information technology support for faculty, staff, and students in the College of Engineering, focusing on support for the departments of Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Co-op. This person must be able meet the day-to-day support needs of the COE community in a professional and friendly manner, while working independently on multiple tasks and projects. Excellent interpersonal, time-management, record-keeping, and troubleshooting skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems, read documentation, and learn independently is more important than familiarity with all items on a fixed list; however the candidate does need to have an established working base of knowledge and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field with 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience supporting computers (Windows, Mac, and Linux), peripherals, and mobile devices
• Experience in academic support environments and familiarity with Engineering software are highly desirable
• Experience with software license management, virtualization, printer and plotter support, and at least one scripting language are plusses
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
