Curriculum Specialist/Content Developer/Educational Specialist

The California Association of Community Managers (CACM) has an immediate opening for a Curriculum Specialist/Content Developer/Educational Specialist position with our association. 

CACM is a non-profit organization located in beautiful Laguna Hills, CA only minutes from Laguna Beach.  We are the primary provider of certification, education and training, and continuing education for community association managers in the state of California.  To ensure a high level of professionalism, we credential community managers and offer accreditation for community management businesses.  Our objective is to provide an environment for professional growth in the residential community management industry. 

This is an exciting time to be part of our team!  CACM is experiencing rapid membership growth and renewed opportunities in the world of education and training.  We are pivoting from traditional classroom education to new systems of delivery and rapid adult education processes.

In 2017 we are implementing exciting changes in technology to advance the specific educational and training needs of our membership.  Our “Flex Learning ProgramSM” is a systematic approach to drive the learning environment within CACM membership.  The development of our online “EduCenterSM”, which includes a new learning management system and career development opportunities, will help members target career growth opportunities and accelerate their advancement in the industry. 

CACM is expanding and adjusting our course offerings and live events to meet the busy schedules of our membership including targeted self-directed seminars, micro-learning courses, and on-demand distance learning.  Curriculum Specialist/Content Developer/Educational Specialist will be passionate about helping others learn and grow.

Curriculum Specialist/Content Developer/Educational Specialist

Assist the eLearning Manager and Instructional Designer to develop and edit instructional material, coordinate educational content, and incorporate current technology into educational programs.

This is a short-term position, (6-12 months with a possibility of becoming permanent).


  • Confer with members of advisory groups to obtain knowledge of subject areas and to relate curriculum materials to specific subjects.
  • Evaluate and edit curricula and materials.
  • Assist in production and design of curriculum materials.
  • Chair/moderate live, online courses and webinars.
  • Coordinate exams, questionnaires, and procedures that measure the effectiveness of curricula and use these tools to determine whether program objectives are being met.
  • Update instructional materials to be used by instructors.
  • Update the content of educational programs to ensure that students are being trained with processes that are technologically current.
  • Curate educational content in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Help develop/configure LMS for better implementation.
  • Develop/edit classroom-based and distance learning training courses.
  • Catalog and maintain digital educational materials.

Detailed Work Activities

  • Collaborate with others to coordinate educational matters.
  • Design and develop instructional materials.
  • Modify teaching materials to accommodate to student needs.
  • Organize informational materials.
  • Inspect materials or equipment to determine need for repair or replacement.
  • Assess educational needs of students.
  • Edit technology-based learning materials

  • Duration of Typical Work Week—40 hours.


Bachelor’s degree in field related to education/eLearning/instructional design and/or curriculum. Focus on English, Journalism, and/or Adult Education.

Work Experience

3 to 5 years preferred
