PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST - ADVANCED

Job Description: The Division of Research, Economic Development, and Engagement Public Communications Specialist is a highly motivated and talented individual that creates, implements, and measures the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance REDE's image and position within ECU, the community, and the region. This individual reports directly to the Director of News Services and is responsible for: REDE's website, social media channels, and electronic newsletter; internal and external marketing materials; and research stories and fact sheets. He/she also serves as the official spokesperson for REDE and is responsible for all media relations ensuring the positive impression of the division and the services provided within the division.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations. Salary Grade Equivalent: 73 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
