Degree and Area of Specialization:

Advanced degree(s), including a minimum of a Master's degree in business, health services administration, public administration, public health, or other health related field.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Seven or more years of progressively responsible professional experience with a record of significant accomplishments in managing complex organizations, departments, or programs, preferably in an academic medical center environment directing a large department and group practice. Demonstrated understanding and recognition of the academic medical center's multiple (and often conflicting) missions of teaching, research, clinical service delivery, and public service.



Position Summary:

Direct the overall administrative operations of the clinical, educational, research and service responsibilities of the Clinical Academic Department of Anesthesiology with unique linkage to and responsibilities for the UW Medical Foundation clinical group practice. Serve as administrative liaison to the UW Medical Foundation (UWMF), University Hospital and Clinics (UWHC), School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW on joint resources, contracting and other issues.
