Provide assistance to food stamp recipients who wish to engage in job search activities, educational offerings and training to better their opportunities for employment.
Assist clientele in accessing skills and interest assessments, interpret results and work with each participant to develop a work plan that will include job search and skill development.
Assist in processing scholarship funding as needed to provide participants with additional training.
Maintain frequent contact with participants, providing direction, encouragement and resources to help them complete their individual plan and find employment.
Monitor and record pre-defined outcomes for each participant, including job placement, job longevity, skill development and work plan participation.
Maintain client files and assess progress towards individual goals. Provide follow-up support and identify success rates. Serve as referral resource and liaison for SNAP participants to other community agencies and provide assistance with resumes, interviewing skills and other job search activities.
Work with other staff and with partner organizations to coordinate educational and training opportunities and serve as instructor if required to fulfill the SNAP E&T training agenda. Topics may include career change and stress management, job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing, work values and job performance.
Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans. Other duties and responsibilities will be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
