University of North Texas Health Science Center - Community Relations Specialist

The Institutional Advancement Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Community Relations Specialist to join our team. The COA will lead initiatives that: 1) promote UNTHSC (educational, research-oriented, and health) services to non-profit, civic, and community organizations. 2) provide volunteer workforce for community events through a connection to UNTHSC staff, alumni, students and friends 3) administer UNTHSC sponsorship commitments to include volunteer needs, booth logistics, health screenings (first-aid or event medical management), marketing & brand exposure, and evaluation of event outcomes. 4) manage relationships for community organizations who wish to utilize campus facilities for meetings, events, or tours.Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:* Build relationships with community health non-profits, education, and faith organizations that align with UNTHSC strategic priorities. * Serve as a liaison with groups and individual members on connecting with UNTHSC activities, faculty, research, and more. * Keep an inventory/map of community organization calendars and community needs to match against services, faculty/administrator expertise, and strategic innovations. * Prioritize action plans that engage key organizations.* Recruit volunteers for community service. * Be a liaison to ensure community organization needs are met, that internal logistics are streamlined, and that we report service impact to administration.* Develop recognition programs for volunteers.* Assist as needed with student volunteer days and partnerships.* Organize institutional commitments to promote prevention and education to under-served or disparate populations:* Manage community sponsorship commitments to include volunteer needs, booth, screenings, marketing logistics, and follow-up evaluation outcomes.* Work with schools, organizations, and community leaders to understand services, needs, and capabilities. * Coordinate delivery of appropriate health & education.* Work with Marketing to leverage success stories.* Develop system for timely follow-up and engagement of community audiences to include but not limited to: service as brand ambassador, receive communications, request speakers, develop/attend events, and more. * Coordinate with community organizations that request facility use and tours for their members or customers:* Relationship building, internal coordination, constant and consistent communication, and event evaluation are parts of delivering quality service to community partners who use our campus grounds, parking, meeting rooms, lecture halls, etc.* Collect and organize outreach activities generating content for an annual impact report under guidance of administrative leaders. This annual report will showcase community impact and enhance Institutional Advancement in the pursuit of donors and sponsors.* Gather internal reports from executive leaders who serve on community boards ? leverage their relationships, report in Raiser's Edge, qualify prospects for tours, speaking, & giving.* Support Community & Alumni Relations teams with event logistics, list management, and general duties as needed.* Convene and engage people from diverse groups and sectors with optimal outcomes. * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional demeanor, and adept at interacting with all levels of an organization. * Maintain accurate data on Community stakeholders through the use of Raiser's Edge.* Partners closely with other Institutional Advancement team members to leverage fund-raising opportunities and produce exceptional events.
