Job Description

MCRC Group is seeking an individual with Hospital Reimbursement and Applications Development experience. This individual will help support and enhance our Account Management System (AMS). It is built with .NET framework, C#, and SQL Server. The Analyst/Applications Developer is expected to gain proficiency with the AMS application data models and data dependencies so as to provide the best possible assistance to the End Users (including Analyst/Applications Developer) with their data access needs. The ideal candidates must be proficient in their knowledge of commercial and government healthcare reimbursement methodologies, hospital billing and managed care contract terminology (such as diagnosis and procedure codes, DRGs, HCPCS and CPT codes, and revenue billing codes).

Job Description:

The successful candidate will assist in the design and development of new application modules, database objects, and reports to support the business needs of AMS and other applications on a similar platform. As an application developer of the AMS team, the candidate will work closely with the business analysts, developers, and database administrators for the ongoing implementation and maintenance of AMS.

The Candidate will also be responsible for running reports and analyzing hospital claims data to identify contractual underpayments and billing errors. The successful candidate will work with hospital clients to obtain necessary information or data to enhance system performance and output.

Mandatory Requirements:

1 year of experience in application development

6 months of experience in database administration

Experience working in Hospital Patient Financial Services or related Healthcare industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position will work side by side with the AMS Team Lead (s) with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment in performing development work. The Candidate will be a key participant in the on-going progression of hospital claims analysis, AMS architecture, technical design/ re-design, performance tuning, security access, and the continuous improvement of the development process. Strong aptitude for understanding business logic in order to effectively collaborate with other business analysts in translating business needs into system designs. Additionally, it is of equal importance for the candidate to understand production code written by others and be able to articulate such existing functionalities for the business analysts to comprehend.

It is important that the candidate be able to perform technical development work with the technology stack currently employed for AMS. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Windows forms and web applications in Visual Studio 2012.

• .Net development skills (e.g. C# 4.0, ASP/ MVC, .NET framework 4.0 and above)

• MS SQL Server version 2012 or higher with expert level SQL skills (e.g. authoring queries, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning).


• Custom VBA and macro in Excel.

Experience with migrating client-server environment to web environment with specific exposure to IIS server, CSS3, HTML5, and Javascript. Some experience with version control is highly desirable. The developer must have excellent ability in writing technical documentation to articulate technical design and implementation logic.

• Extensive experience in designing and building applications with object-oriented software development methodologies and SQL.

• Knowledge of the full software development life-cycle process.
