In this role, you'll be responsible for support and maintenance of FSU Middleware systems. These include F5 BIG-IP, GlassFish, WebLogic, Tomcat, ColdFusion, CAS (Central Authentication System), Shibboleth and Automic Automation Engine. What we do isn't limited to that, so experience in just one or none is fine.
The ideal candidate has a passion for connecting technology with people, an eye for detail, ability to prioritize, top-notch customer service skills and a great attitude! The ideal candidate also has five or more years of professional Linux OS or application administration experience, working knowledge of networking fundamentals and can learn new applications quickly. You’ll also need at least 8 years of total work experience (degrees can substitute experience).


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years of experience or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and non- technical users.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Ability to document existing and new processes.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
Ability to utilize technical skills. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.
Experience in identifying and implementing improvements and enhancements for all components that compromise the middleware domain (or similar types of software).
Experience analyzing performance, resolving issues, and tuning application parameters as needed, to include troubleshooting, researching errors, and applying appropriate reconfigurations or patches/fixes as necessary.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative & Professional position.


Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
