E-Learning Developer - Instructional Designer

The Florida Center for Research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (FCR-STEM) at Florida State University seeks a highly motivated instructional designer to create self-paced, online tutorials for students in grades K-12 using Articulate Storyline 360 in a fast-paced development environment.
Ideal candidates are experienced e-Learning developers who understand instructional systems, learning theories, instructional design, visual design, computer-based training, have an interest in K-12 education, and effectively collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), narrators, and other members of the instructional design team.
Evaluate PowerPoint (PPT) storyboards from subject matter experts (SMEs) according to project requirements
Provide consultation, feedback, and recommendations to SMEs via email, phone, or face-to-face
View, check-out, track, and update tasks in Microsoft SharePoint, including development time estimates
Transfer content from PPT storyboards into Articulate Storyline 360
Modify original slide designs and interactions from SMEs to improve instructional design, usability, user motivation, and/or visual design characteristics
Use Articulate Storyline 360 to create interactive content and freeform quiz slides, including text, images, video, audio, animations, states, and layers
Follow all project specifications for accessibility, Articulate Storyline 360, media use, instructional design, and visual design
Edit images, audio, and video as needed
Create, modify, comment, and track changes in documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Using Articulate Storyline 360: Publish or export to Word and format scripts for narrators
Using Articulate Storyline 360: Insert audio files from narrators and sync animations
Conduct Quality Control evaluations of all products before publication and review
Using Articulate Storyline 360: Publish for web and upload finished projects to CPALMS
Collaborate with fellow team members, including narrators, to make all requested revisions and complete projects & tasks
Share ideas for improving processes or products
Evaluate and report on other software, media, projects, etc. as needed
Contribute to the production of job aids, webinars, and other performance support materials as needed.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Instructional Systems (or similar program).
Proficiency with Articulate Storyline (Articulate Storyline 2 or Articulate 360 preferred)
Proficiency with office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (extensive experience with PPT preferred)
Excellent quality assurance and quality control in personal work products
Strong instructional design skills
Designing and developing e-learning/online learning experiences
Strong visual/graphic design skills
Ability to collaborate effectively on project teams, especially with subject matter experts
Ability to juggle multiple development tasks at the same time
Ability to seamlessly adapt to rapidly changing project priorities
Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficiency with graphics applications including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, or their equivalent
Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g. Audacity, Adobe Audition)
Proficiency with video/image capture software (e.g. Camtasia, Snagit)
Proficiency communicating via web-based systems and basic software applications /Resume must include a link to an online portfolio/examples of e-Learning development.
Master’s degree or higher.

Anticipated Salary Range
$40,000/year ( negotiable)
This is a Faculty position.
Soft Money Funded Position
This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
