Job Summary/Basic Function: This position, under the director of the Director of Infrastructure, provides technical leadership and oversight for deployment and delivery of enterprise-wide infrastructure administration projects or services. Develops technical standards for implementing enterprise-wide infrastructure projects or services. This position will be responsible for providing senior level technical skills, leadership, and expertise in server administration, managing and maintaining servers, storage and backup solutions. Services as a chair or senior member of an information resource team responsible for setting technical standards and direction. Participates in mentoring, training, and development of other employees.
Work Hours: Typically works Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm; may work beyond normal office hours and weekends.

Establish standards for infrastructure system administration based on regulatory requirements and input from enterprise stakeholders. Approve the design plans for new infrastructure systems and upgrades. Establish standards for operation procedures used for infrastructure system installations and upgrades. Responsible for the oversight of routine audits of systems and software. Establish testing standards and procedures. Provide technical oversight for the testing of enterprise-wide infrastructure systems. Establish protocols and processes for problem management and support and continually monitors its effectiveness. Establish standards for the development of infrastructure hardware and software deployments and purchases. Develop specifications and plans for large and complex purchases of infrastructure systems. Establish enterprise level standards for the implementation of new technology deployments and system integration testing. Establish procedures for compliance with enterprise and state information security regulations. Establish standards for operation procedures used for infrastructure system backups and recovery. Participate in the development of disaster recovery plans.
Achieve availability by creating and maintaining a stable technology environment, troubleshooting and resolving issues in an expedient manner, identifying root cause, and ensuring the University is not exposed to repeat issues. Perform hardware/software maintenance activities for all server infrastructure, converged infrastructure, storage, and backup solutions. Install, support, and maintain server software and hardware as needed including operating systems, connection and provisioning for storage, and general software and hardware maintenance items. Maintain enterprise software such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Exchange, SQL and Oracle, enterprise backup solutions.
Collaborate with project leaders and staff to develop work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases and identifying personnel and computing equipment requirements. Provides technical oversight for major installations, upgrades, outages, and process changes.
Oversee enterprise processes for the evaluation of new technologies. Make technical recommendations to enterprise executive leadership.
Oversee and evaluate the work of contractors and venders to ensure quality services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
Necessary Qualifications: Ten years of related experience in IT.
