The Department of Surgery has an opening for full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Business Services Professional position.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families. Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.
Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the entry level, duties are limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals and are performed in a training and development capacity.
The Business Services Professional (1.0 FTE) carries out duties related to business office, human resources and operational needs of the Division of GI, Trauma and Endocrine Surgery, Department of Surgery. Working under the direction of the Business Services Program Director, the Business Services Professional conducts business office functions primarily in support of human resources. These functions include recruiting, onboarding, communication, credentialing and time collection for faculty and research positions. This position also coordinates and carries out duties related to moves and relocations, space, equipment, inventory and general operations.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare administration, public administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- One (1) or more years of experience working in a Higher Education environment performing duties related to this position.
- One (1) or more years of experience working with university systems and processes (ex. HCM, time collection, procurement, etc.).
- Experience with Human Resources, hiring, and onboarding.
- Experience working directly with Faculty.
- Experience communicating with patients and scheduling patients.
