Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the HR Manager, function as a Human Resources Operations Coordinator in the School of Medicine and Public Health. This position shares responsibility for nearly 1900 academic staff and 1000 university staff employees and has specific responsibilities related to a subset of departments and programs within the School. This position is responsible for ensuring that their work is consistent with SMPH, University, State and Federal policies, codes, and statutes. This position requires a person with excellent administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills who can assist with the
planning and implementation of Human Resources office projects. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio and other computer-based resources is essential. Teamwork with other staff, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential in this position. The successful incumbent must have the capacity to manage multiple concurrent priorities. The incumbent will be required to exercise some independent decision making related to application of human resources policies, procedures and guidelines for each type of employee group.

The HR Assistant Advanced will be primarily managing the licensing and credentialing process for the Departments of Surgery and Urology. This position is responsible for the dissemination and interpretation of information relating to licensing and credentialing policies and procedures. This position has regular contact with other UW Departments and with Department management staff and requires an understanding of roles, responsibilities, and programs throughout the Department, SMPH, UW Hospital, UWMF, VAH and UW settings.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with managers, supervisor, coworkers, and all customers. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information with tact and discretion. Use effective team skills to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit. Present ideas, carry out assignments, and provide information as required. Effectively share knowledge and skills obtained through professional development.

This position reports to the HR Manager and also receives direction from the Director of Surgery Services.



Schedule Comment:

Our standard hours are 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. The exact schedule can be flexible and will be determined at the time of hire.
