The primary responsibility of the tutor is to provide one-on-one support to students enrolled in self-directed English and Literature courses. Tutors must be able to relate to and work with students individually, exercise good judgment, and provide effective feedback to students. In addition to tutoring students, a small amount of administrative work will be required. Administrative duties may include but are not limited to calling students, distributing assignments, recording grades, and reviewing student journal responses.
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, Literature, Education or a related area is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 1+ years of tutoring experience preferred.
- Weekend availability is a must.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Hourly Rate: $27.60/hr @ 18/hrs/wk (non-benefitted)
