The ShowMe Healthy Relationships (SMHR) project in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Missouri is seeking a research assistant in the Department of Human Development & Family Science. This position is available immediately. The SMHR project is a 5-year federally-funded study of couple/relationship education programs delivered in community settings. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Performance Measurement/Evaluation Manager, the research assistant will work on a study to deliver and evaluate programs that aims to improve couple and family relationships and well-being. The project serves adult individuals and couples from economically and ethnically diverse backgrounds in a variety of family structures (e.g., single adults, un-married parents, and married and un-married couples) in 21 counties. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the collection, entry, management, and analysis of program and curricular fidelity data. The research assistant will be involved in assisting with the oversight of data collection, management, and analyses to assess program effectiveness and facilitate a process of continuous quality improvement. May also be involved in assisting in the design and management of small demonstration research projects and assisting with the performance measurement activities required by project funders. This person will work with data collectors, project staff at community partner agencies, and student research assistants. Contributions will be made in the areas of analyses, preparation of data reports to funders, and dissemination of results through conference presentations, outcome briefs, and scholarly publications.
Minimum qualifications include graduate-level training in Human Development and Family Science or a closely related field (or at least 3 years working as a research assistant responsible for similar tasks), as well as basic qualitative and/or quantitative research and writing skills. The candidate must be fluent in English, and must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate selected for this position must also be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
