Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is pleased to announce a national search for an experienced leader to serve as the Director of Financial Affairs.

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Administration, the Director of Financial Affairs will lead and support the SIUE Accounting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Bursar and Financial Affairs units, and maintain the integrity of financial statements, records and systems for the University.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:
-Procure and pay for goods and services for all SIUE departments in accordance with state regulations and Board Policy.
-Collect tuition and fees from students and act as cash repository for University departments.
-Prepare financial analyses to help management make sound financial decisions.
-Establish and enforce SIUE fiscal policies.
-Determine and implement internal controls to protect funds and other SIUE assets.
-Act as advocate for the students regarding fee proposals.
-Improve the cost-effectiveness and customer friendliness of the University.
-Act as “fiscal conscience” for Financial Affairs employees with their self-development.

The Director of Financial Affairs may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities in support of the University’s mission and goals.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.  Advanced degree and/or CPA preferred.
-Ten years of progressive experience as a leader of financial units.
-Knowledge of fund accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Ability to develop teams and act as a change agent.
-Aptitude for financial forecasting and analysis.
-Customer happiness orientation.
-Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, campuses, and state agencies.
-Experience in a University or similar institutional setting.
