CLINICAL PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
Columbus State University has an opening for a Clinical Placement Coordinator for the School of Nursing. This is a full-time, 12 month, staff appointment with administrative duties that will work independently with multiple clinical sites to coordinate student clinical placements. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with strong nursing, communication, marketing, computer, recruitment, and administrative skills, and have a clinical background in a health care agency or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: identifying and reviewing new clinical/practicum agency student placement sites for potential learning experiences for either BSN, or MSN students; maintaining active agency contract list and correspondence with all clinical sites in each program; communicating with university general counsel regarding new contracts, renewals, or changes; maintaining electronic records of all clinical contracts; collaborating with agency staff as well as School of Nursing faculty and staff to maintain currency in all contractual agreements; maintaining lists of approved preceptors by clinical specialty and track (MSN, RN-BSN, or FNP); interacting with clinical agencies to plan for and schedule student group clinical or individual senior clinical practicum preceptor rotations, including any orientation needs; attending required meetings at clinical affiliation agencies; maintaining clinical clearance records on students and clinical faculty and submit to clinical agencies, including CPR verification, health clearances, background checks, and resumes that may be required; preparing clinical clearance permission letters for students and advisors; distributing agency evaluation forms and clinical teaching forms to clinical professors and preceptors; collaborating with site coordinators and clinical professors to evaluate clinical sites; managing student clinical placement issues in collaboration with the Associate Director as appropriate; and all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Nursing or RN Diploma ( Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred) and a minimum of one year of teaching in an institution of technical, community college, university, or equivalent experience. The selected candidate must possess an unencumbered RN license within the State of Georgia; a minimum of two years’ of current or recent (within the last year) clinical experience as a registered nurse; and current demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice at the registered nurse level in Georgia.
The salary is commensurate with education and experience.
