Columbus State University has multiple openings for Admissions Counselor positions in the Office of Admissions/Enrollment Management. These positions are responsible for recruiting students to Columbus State University from an assigned territory to be determined in the Georgia region. Of these positions, one will be based from a home office located in the Metro Atlanta vicinity, while the remaining two will be based out of our main campus in Columbus, GA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: visiting high schools, attending college fairs, and coordinating a variety of recruitment activities; and completing and submitting weekly and monthly reports, which include but are not limited to, preparing territory reports to accurately reflect schools/counties by priority. Work is performed with considerable independence and frequent travel is required. Weekend and evening work will be required throughout the academic year to support University recruitment activities.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. The successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to make presentations to large and small audiences. Additional desirable skills include: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; assembling and analyzing reports for use in designing and implementing recruitment strategies; working effectively with colleagues, prospective students, parents, high school counselors, alumni, and faculty members; the ability to work irregular hours, nights, and weekends; and perform other duties as assigned. Candidate must provide their own vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 40lbs.
