Instructor expectations

The online learning environment depends upon challenges that require precise definition of instructor performance. As a higher education instructor, you should perceive the temperament of the online platform in which you teach as well as what students foresee from you. It is important to take the time to set reasonable expectations based on our student's needs as well as course requirements. Every individual learns differently; therefore, any course of study will have students with various learning styles, backgrounds, and levels of preparedness, which makes it indispensable to be sensitive and understand the online environment. Instructors should expect to provide student feedback on a predictable schedule, communicate with students on a consistent basis, have clear instructions and expectations in the course syllabus, and offer a quick turnaround on grades, among others.
