The School of Communication (SOC) in one of only two academic schools at Emerson College. It houses four departments (Communication Sciences and Disorders, Communication Studies, Journalism and Marketing Communication), offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in business of creative enterprises, civic media: arts and practice, communication management, communication sciences and disorders, communication studies, integrated marketing, journalism, political communication, and sports communication.
With over 1,300 enrolled students and as many as 150 affiliated, clinical, and full time faculty, the SOC offers one of the oldest stand-alone communication programs in the country, and aspires to be a leader and premier destination for communication education in the 21st century. The School excels at balancing scholarship and real-world skills, preparing students to be innovative storytellers, creative and critical thinkers, writers, and communication practitioners in an increasingly global, diverse, and digital world.
The Web Coordinator is as a crucial member of the School of Communication (SOC) staff, and is responsible for supporting the SOC's institutional website as a best-in-class platform that positions the School as one of the finest institutions of higher learning in the field.
The Web Coordinator is an intensely collaborative, service-oriented professional, with a demonstrated talent for content development and management. The Web Coordinator is able to seamlessly take in often complex language and synthesize into engaging, well-organized, and concise content.

•Bachelor’s degree required
•Drupal and Wordpress mastery: Maintain “superuser” knowledge and expertise on both Drupal and WordPress platforms, including both module/plugin and theme implementation;
•PHP/mySQL understanding/expertise a plus;
•Ability to work individually and as part of a team required.
•Creative vision, project management focus, and a systematic approach to his/her work, with a strong sense of accountability for deadlines and outcomes; •Demonstrated leadership ability in steering projects from conception to completion; •Strong speaking and writing skills; •Prior video production and editing experience highly desirable.
Required Prior Work Experience:
•Expected credentials include 3-5 years of prior full-time work experience related to web site design, digital content production, social media, video production/editing, or related fields.
