Nurse Research

Position Summary

This job is in a complex environment which offers the successful candidate the challenge and rewards of helping patients with a wide spectrum of brain and nervous system disorders, specifically Alzheimer's and dementia. The position consists of performing patient assessments, telephone triage and interviews with patients; provides patient education and coordination of services for patients and families; coordinates and assists faculty in conducting clinical research projects; involves the use of subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and intravenous infusion skills.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in clinical research; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. May require a Bachelor's degree in nursing and/or work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care.

Desired Qualifications

Specialty training and experience in neurology; knowledge and experience in coordinating and performing clinical research including performing injections and intravenous infusions; experience administering rating scales is desired.
