Frostburg State University invites applications for the newly-created position of Dean of Enrollment Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the University’s strategic enrollment management plan to expand and retain a talented, engaged, and diverse student body. A member institution of the University System of Maryland, Frostburg State University (FSU) is a public, comprehensive, largely residential regional university offering programs in the sciences, education, business, the arts and humanities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. More than 5,000 students enroll yearly. FSU is located on a 260-acre campus in the Appalachian Highlands of Western Maryland.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the President and the Provost, the Dean of Enrollment Management will serve as FSU’s senior enrollment officer with duties including, but not limited to, the following: Manage all aspects of the recruitment, application, and admissions process for undergraduate freshmen and transfer students. Lead the staff and operations in the Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid. Deploy new data-informed and results-oriented enrollment initiatives; find ways to improve results from current enrollment strategies. Develop and implement innovative outreach methods, events, and activities to market FSU’s academic programs and student life. Maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of best practices, trends, and challenges in student recruitment and retention. Build and strengthen working partnerships on- and off-campus to assist with recruitment and retention efforts. Assess overall effectiveness in meeting student enrollment and retention goals. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree with at least ten years of progressively responsible work experience in recruiting, admissions, enrollment management, student retention, or another closely related field. Proven track-record of leading a team successful in meeting or exceeding enrollment and/or retention goals. Expertise with data analysis and an appreciation for technology and social media. Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Valid non-commercial driver’s license and willingness to travel, with some evening and weekend obligations.

Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of experience as a director or associate director of admissions. Familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions software. Experience with recruiting and retaining transfer and adult students.

Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
