Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Provides temporary administrative support to various academic and administrative departments on campus. Duties include typing and proofreading correspondence, answering telephones, filing, distributing mail, and general office duties to support university departments.

Applicants with human resources, higher education, accounting, data entry, and front office experience are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Requires at least a high school education and average typing and word processing skills.

At least 2 years of clerical experience is preferred. Experience with MS Office Suite is also preferred.

In addition to completing an online application some floater positions require having a valid (within the past year for non-USC employees and within the last five years for current USC employees) typing test on file. Applications without a typing test will not be considered for those positions that require a typing test.
Typing tests are given Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the USC Employment Office, 1600 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC.
Average typing 40-49 wpm with five or less errors.
