Job Description

Mid-Level QA Testers Needed

Outlier Security is looking for mid-level QA testers to assist in testing our agentless Enterprise Detection and Response product. Successful candidates will demonstrate an understanding of the software development process and a passion for ensuring a high-quality product. This position will require at least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent skills. This is a remote contract position for a company that operates in the Pacific time zone. U.S. residents only.

Duties:

1. Execute Test plans thoroughly and quickly

2. Verify bug fixes and feature implementations

3. Assist in writing new test plans

4. Assist developers in identifying the root-cause of discovered bugs

5. Work extra hours at the end of release cycles to keep the release on-schedule

6. Participate in team discussions about test strategy and techniques

7. Help develop new techniques for increasing test effectiveness and efficiency

Requirements:

1. At least 2 years of software QA or programming experience or demonstrate equivalent skills.

2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

3. Experience following a test plan

4. Strong organizational skills

5. Ability to work well within a team of diverse personalities

6. Strong problem-solving and research skills

7. Familiarity with basic office productivity applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

8. Basic understanding of fundamental information security concepts

9. Familiarity with recent versions of Windows (beyond just how to use them)

10. Ability to work well, manage distractions and stay on task in a home-office environment

Nice-to-Haves:

1. Experience with automated testing suites

2. Familiarity or proficiency with Python, C/C++/C#

3. VMWare or other virtualization experience

4. Technical writing experience

5. Database familiarity

6. Software debugging tools familiarity

7. Linux/OSX experience
