Duties and Responsibilities - Works closely with librarians and technologists to develop, implement, and assess information delivery tools and programs for first year students, as well as the campus community;- Collaborates with academic partners to meet first year information literacy teaching and learning objectives;- Instructs at the group and individual level regarding general and assignment-specific Library information and research resources to students, faculty, and staff;- Shared general and specialized research assistance to patrons in on-site, distance, and virtual settings;- Actively participates in Library-related events and service to the University and campus community; and- Builds relationships with faculty, staff, and students through special events, innovative programming, and engagement activities.- Evening and weekend rotational hours.

Minimum Required Education ALA-Accredited Masters in Library/Information Science

Type and Amount of Experience Needed - Two or more years of professional experience in an academic library setting- Commitment to user-oriented service philosophy- Knowledge of information literacy theory and practice- Up-to-date knowledge of First Year Experience trends and services- Experience with classroom teaching, training, or library instruction- Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning- Experience using integrated library systems

Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with learning management systems, such as Moodle, Blackboard- Experience working with first year and first-generation student populations- Experience using technology to design instructional and informational materials- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
