Duties: Take a lead on news stories to produce 10-15 half hour segments for a 2 hour live daily show every week based on editorial direction established by Knowledge@Wharton's editor in chief and the editorial team. Work independently to develop, research, pre-interview and book 1-3 guests for each segment. Collaborate with small production team pitching ideas, prepping copy, and producing segments. Develop and communicate a strong vision, direction, and sound for the show. Work closely with program host to provide the most accurate and up-to-date material for each segment. Work collaboratively to develop an audience growth strategy. Foster a creative and productive work environment. Help develop and manage new podcasts, as needed. Able to problem solve on within a very short time if something unexpected occurs during the live broadcast. Direct shows.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in journalism or broadcasting and 3 - 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education or experience. Experience producing a national radio show is required.
Demonstrated strong broadcast writing ability.
Thorough knowledge of broadcast writing, editing and audio production.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent organizational skills, with great attention to detail
Strong research skills
Ability to meet objectives under deadline pressure
Ability to work in a small group environment, and work effectively and collaboratively with others
Digital audio editing experience
Experience working with hosts
High journalistic standards and a vision of what (s)he wants show to be over the long term
Established relationships with other news organizations, academic institutions and think tanks
Ability to handle multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent time frames and changing priorities/conditions.
Considerable knowledge of current events, including international and national news.
Strong ability to structure compelling audio content and stories.
Proven ability to consistently work well with others
Must be able to work in a studio broadcast and/or office environment
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
