Job description

Duties: Provide project management and technical support to the engineering and energy planning group. Assist in managing project databases focusing on energy conservation including the Energy Reduction Fund (ERF), Facilities Renewal Fund (FRF), and Century Bond Fund databases. Perform calculations and reporting in support of measurement and verification for energy conservation projects. Troubleshoot and repair the meter data collection and historian system.
Perform analysis of data in support of Penn's Climate Action Plan (CAP). Under the guidance of senior engineering staff conduct engineering reviews of designs for adherence to Penn's engineering standards. Provide field support on operations and maintenance issues requiring engineered solutions. Position will be supervised by and provide technical support to the Energy Planner in his/her role of planning to meet the long-range energy and utility infrastructure needs of the University.

This is a three year term position.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years to 3 years of experience in engineering or energy related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification preferred. Knowledge of computer software including AutoCAD, building automation systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and energy modeling is preferred. Knowledge of intermediate computer networking concepts including TCP/IP and Modbus protocols is required. Knowledge of basic electronics and electricity is preferred.
